Sage is a plant of the Mediterranean region. Due to its exceptional significance for health preservation, the Romans referred to it as the “sacred herb.”

The essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the above-ground parts of the plant. Approximately 50 kg of plant material is needed to produce 1 kg of essential oil.
