There are over 600 species of eucalyptus in the world. However, the most well-known and commonly used is Eucalyptus globulus. Once native only to the Australian continent, it is now cultivated in other parts of the world, including China, India, and South Africa.
Eucalyptus essential oil is obtained through the steam distillation of bluish-green leaves. Approximately 50 kg of plant material yields 1 kg of essential oil. Use the essential oil in diffusers.
