The citronella plant belongs to the family of sweet grasses, Cymbopogon, and is native to the tropical regions of South America and Asia. Due to its rich, fresh, lemony aroma, it is a favorite ingredient in the perfume and cosmetic industries.

Dea Flores citronella essential oil is obtained through the steam distillation of the aerial parts of the wild plant. About 100 kg of plant material is needed to produce 1 kg of essential oil rich in geraniol and citronellol.
