Camphor is a tree that can reach up to 25 meters in height and belongs to the laurel family. The active substance, camphor, is formed only when the tree reaches 50 years of age. The older the tree, the more oil it contains.

Camphor essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves and bark of the Cinnamomum Camphora tree, also known as true camphor. In aromatherapy, only white camphor is used.
